Farmer suicides in India

They say that public has a short memory. It is true.We remember farmer suicides when a farmer commits one, only to forget all about it in a couple of days. No demand for action, no guilty punished. This issue deserves our serious attention.

The National Green Tribunal was constituted following the passage of the National Green Tribunal Act of 2010. Initially the country was given to understand that the Tribunal would hear the cases in which Environmental clearance is given or withheld by the concerned authorities, to ensure that there was no arbitrariness in the process. But devil always lies in the details.

A major power co has terminated its project of the construction of a 3960MW power plant in Jharkhand. Reason? simple, it could not get the land. So what will be the consequences?  well..

Is land acquisition evil? is it anti farmer? Is Indian Government hand in glove with the corporates in exploiting the poor ?
Well, isn't this what the leftists would like us to believe. Ground facts are in a stark contrast to the picture that's painted in media to manufacture a misinformed dissent.
